Speech & Drama Exams

BRAVO to all the boys who took their Speech & Drama exams on Saturday 29th November.  They were examined by Ms June Nelson of the Irish Board of Speech & Drama who was most impressed by their excellent preparation!

They all received very high marks and Ms Mazzoni is very proud of them all!

A special word of congratulations goes to Alex Kiernan in 4th class who won the Irish Board of Speech & Drama medal for his excellent performance and the highest marks achieved in our school this year. Well done Alex!

Speech & Drama is finished for 2014. A new term will start on Thursday 8th January, 2015.


Speech and Drama classes commence on Thursday 12th September.

Junior students, from 1st and 2nd classes, may attend Speech and Drama lessons from  2.30 to 3.40 on Thursdays and and senior students from 3rd to 6th classes, may attend on Thursday from 3.40 until 4.50.

Classes will include a range of activities such as drama games, exercises in movement and mime, speech work, verse and prose speaking, improvisation and creative drama, public speaking, and participation in scripted drama.

In term 1 (September to Christmas) the primary focus will be preparation for the Irish Board of Speech and Drama Grade examinations.

The term fee is €100 per pupil (€180 for 2 brothers, €270 for 3 brothers). There will be an additional cost of between €17 and €37 for the exam fee, depending on the grade.

Forms were distributed to classes and are available from the secretary.
