Greetings to all in Ballyroan Boys’ School.
I’m glad to have this opportunity to pay tribute to Mrs. Clear who is going to start a new part of her life.
Mrs. Clear had spent many years teaching older boys in Ballyroan and the school has been like a second family to her. She has been a great class teacher. Her classroom was always buzzing with lots of activities and enthusiastic pupils working hard. She continued this work outside of school time.
She encouraged the boys to take part in everything that was going on and even if you weren’t the best, it didn’t matter as long as you did your best!
For many years, Mrs. Clear coached Gaelic football and very often had 2 teams taking part in competitions. She always got the best out of the players and brought many teams to Finals in Croke Park.
The same was true of all the Quiz teams she prepared over the years and other schools were always sad when they saw Mrs. Clear’s teams arrive to a Quiz because it meant their school would not win. Her teams weren’t just the best in Rathfarnham and Dublin but were amongst the best in the country.
I couldn’t count the numbers of boys that Mrs. Clear brought to Delphi Centre for Outdoor Pursuits with unforgettable days of canoeing, rock climbing, zip wiring and other fun activities. It was a lovely way to finish their time in Primary School and gave the boys many happy memories.
So Mrs. Clear has made a wonderful contribution to life in Ballyroan Boys School, has encouraged boys to take part in activities they never tried before and to use talents they didn’t realize they had. She always gave 100% to her job and brought the best out in her pupils.
So thank you Mrs. Clear for all your hard work throughout your time in Ballyroan Boys School and I wish you many happy and healthy years in the future.
