Sam visits Ballyroan

On Wednesday, November 13th, we were again privileged to have a visit from a very familar friend! Yes! Sam Maguire was back in Ballyroan and and for good measure he brought the Senior Club Championship Cup with him!

We were delighted to welcome Sam, Jim Gavin, Michael Darragh Macauley, Darren O’Reilly and Jason Sherlock to the school hall for the celebration. Always generous with their time, Darren was one of the stars of BBSE’s recent championship win over neighbours Thomas Davis and Michael was central to Dublin’s recent record of 5 in a row. As past pupis and ambassadors for football in our area we are surely blessed not to mention the other four pupils who started for BBSE in their final win in Parnell Park.

Darren, Jim, Michael and Jason encouraged the boys to enjoy their sport (and work at their studies) and they had special words of encouragement for our Junior Footballers (League winners) and our recent Croke Park finalists.

The players paid tribute to the school for encouraging all sports in the school and we would like to thank players, manager, coach ( and club coach) for taking time out from their busy schedule to visit us and brighten up a wet rainy November morning!
