It is World Book Week this week and we are really celebrating it in Ballyroan! There is a lot happening this week! Every morning we have boys from different classes sharing a poem or an extract from a story with the whole school.
There is paired reading between classes which is proving to be a huge success and the classes that have done paired reading so far have really enjoyed it.
Every day this week the whole school is taking part in DEAR time (Drop Everything and Read) at the same time.
The Hall is getting set up for World Book Day which is tomorrow the 5th of March. Classes are displaying some wonderful work based on books they have been reading in class. Come in and have a look! Or have a look at some of the pictures here on the website of the displays.
There is a short story competition open to all classes. The closing date is Friday. Have your entries handed up to your class teacher by Friday and they will pass it on to the judges. There will be prizes!
Tomorrow for World Book Day we will be having a parade in the hall for all who dress up as their favourite character (or any character) from a book. We have been told about all of these events over the intercom since Monday morning so we hope everybody makes a great effort! Again, there will be prizes on the day!
And lastly, there will be a read aloud in Ms. Fannin’s room tomorrow after school until 3.30pm for boys from 1st to 3rd class. Come along to hear a great story!
We hope everybody is enjoying World Book Week!
