About

Ballyroan BNS was established in 1968 with approximately 400 boys from Ballyroan and the surrounding areas currently attending from 1st to 6th Class. Most of our annual intake comes from our neighbouring school, Scoil Naomh Pádraig, where the boys go for Junior and Senior infants.

Ballyroan Boys’ School aims to be a happy place to work and learn.
Classroom teachers, SEN teachers and special needs assistants work closely to ensure acoordinated approach to the individual needs of pupils.

In addition to the broad curriculum which includes choir, swimming and many sports, there is an extensive range of extra – curricular activities, Homework club, Speech and Drama, Art & Crafts, Computers, Lego Club, Science Club etc.
Sports such as Gaelic Football, Hurling, Basketball, Soccer, Tag Rugby, Golf, cricket and Athletics are coached throughout the year with many school teams participating in local & inter school leagues.

We are very lucky with our location. We are within walking distance of many public spaces including St Enda’s and Marlay Park. We have our own private Woodland Park area and a separate garden area for outdoor teaching and activities.

Our school has a vibrant and dynamic Parent's Association. It was established in 1979 and has been an integral part of school life ever since. The committee meets monthly. The PA hosts several fundraising activities over the school year. These proceeds contribute towards extra resources for the school and the occasional treat for the boys! They manage and distribute the school blazers for First Communion and Confirmation and also cater for school
meetings and events.
