Parent's
Association
The Parents Association represents the parents of the pupils of Ballyroan Boys’ School. We work with the Principal, the Staff and the Board of Management to provide a partnership between home and school.
The PA has been in existence almost as long as the school itself and is dedicated to ensuring that the school and the boys benefit from the best in IT equipment, sports equipment, other resources and teaching aids as needed by the school.
We are a team of enthusiastic, dedicated and energetic parents working alongside the school on a volunteer basis. We run a number of fundraisers over the course of the year and support the school for many events. We are also affiliated with the National Parents Council.
We meet once a month, typically the first Tuesday in the School staffroom. We welcome involvement from all parents and would encourage you to get involved as a member & or volunteer. We can be contacted via our Chairpersons Helen Thornton & Clare O'Donnell or through Trish in the office.

The Limited Draw
The limited draw was considered a very innovative move when it was launched back in the late '90s! It was launched as a fundraiser to make the dream of having a "Computer Room" a reality.
Over the years this Draw money has been used for a variety of big projects including the development of Woodland Park, the purchase of a minibus (retired in 2021!) and the constant upgrade of the I.T. equipment.
The Limited Draw is the main source of income. When the draw was launched all those years ago the initial cost was £5 per month, hence the current monthly amount of €6.35 post Euro! It is such a nominal amount but collectively it makes a massive contribution.
The Annual payment of €76.20 can be made via Aladdin and your payment is deemed to be registration. (Payment is requested in late September via Aladdin.)
Please consider subscribing to the LIMITED DRAW to support the PA and the school.

Strictly Ballyroan (June 2015)
The Parents Association would like to say a huge thanks to all parents, pupils, family, friends and to all of our corporate sponsors and members of the Ballyroan community who supported our “Strictly Ballyroan” fundraising event. To say that this event made a “splash” around the community would be an understatement, and the whole project was a total success, both as an event in its own right, and as a fundraising activity. Everyone who attended will attest to a wonderful and very professionally run event, and everyone had a great night out. All of the dancers have commented on how well supported they all were on stage, and that the atmosphere in the room was electric. It made all of the considerable time that they gave to practicing etc very worthwhile. Final figures will be announced at the parent’s Association AGM in September, so if you are curious to find out how much the event raised exactly, please make sure that you come along. Exact date and time will be published after the school holidays. Congratulations to Emer Flood & Barry Redmond who were winners on the night – they performed “Dirty Dancing”, and were representing 6th class in the girl's school. Interestingly, Emer is an aunt of Zach and Louis Kearney, currently in 3rd Class (Ms. Mazzoni’s), so no divided loyalties there…! Also, well done to Mr. Murphy (5Th Class teacher) and his dance partner Frances Crean, mum of Zach Crean, 6th Class (Mr Canning), who were winners of the dress rehearsal. Mark & Frances performed “the Tango”, and while Frances danced for 5th Class in BBNS, she also has girls in SNP and is the current chairperson of their PA committee – so there is conflict everywhere!! Nonetheless, the collaboration between both PA committees was great to see, and hopefully it is something that can be built upon in the future. Finally, a million thanks again to everyone for their support and participation, and we hope you all have a wonderful summer. Best regards Ballyroan Boys PA Committe
